Finn Helmer got the nickname "The Giga man" after transforming the small electronic business Giga A/S to one of the most notable successfull companies in Denmark. Giga was sold, in one-cash transaction, to Intel for over 1 billion US$ the spring of 2000.
Subsequent to the sale of Giga, Mr. Helmer was General Manager at Intel Corporation's Photonic Technology Operation and New Business Group for a number of years.
Mr. Helmer started his first company at a very young age and has been involved in the start up of 40 companies.
In 2000, by special appointment by the Danish Minister for Research and Education, Mr. Helmer was appointed member of the Board of Directors of the Technical University of Denmark.
Finn Helmer holds an MSc degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark.
